KNOWN ALLERGENS: DO NOT FEED
Cashew, Pistachio, Walnut Pecan (Tree Nuts)
Egg
Lentil (Legume)
Our “kick the can allergens”
Common allergens that we are going to really delay feeding to Julia because we can’t practically incorporate all of them now, and these ones appear less in our life, in kid spaces, and generally in people’s diets. For now (probably for a long while) do not feed these to Julia:
Pine nut, Macadamia nuts, Brazil nuts, Chestnuts
Shellfish
Julia’s “safe” foods
Note: we put “safe” in quotes because you can have an allergy to any food, and unfortunately Julia has three times now seemed to tolerate a food (walnut & lentil & egg) for a significant number of servings and then gone on to develop an allergy, so really no food feels truly in the clear. The foods that appear below are NOT common allergens, and Julia has eaten them many times.
Steel Cut Oats with chopped dates and prunes and a small amount of flax seeds, chia seeds, fresh chopped ginger and cinnamon.
Avocado
Banana
Strawberries
Blackberries
Blueberries
Raspberries
Apples
Watermelon
Spinach
Broccoli
Sweet potato
Carrot
Chicken
Ground Beef crumbles
Shredded pork
Commercially available safe foods:HappyBaby Teethers (not the pea flavor currently)
Cerebelly Spinach Strawberry Banana Smoothie pouch (has title ingredients plus sweet potato and pear)
ALLERGENs we need to re-introduce or introduce to the first time
We hope to re-introduce these foods into Julia’s diet if we get the all clear from her doctor following IgE blood work results. Foods with an * are ones that she was negative to on recent (10/2 or 10/9) skin prick testing. Not all of these foods are “common” allergens, but they are flagged food for Julia because either they are: 1) a common allergen 2) a legume (thus potentially problematic because Julia is allergic to lentil, a legume) or 3) they are an ingredient in a dish where Julia’s had a reaction (where the likely culprit was a different ingredient, but we still need to go slow re-introducing). These are listed in order of priority because they are foods we have most in our families diet//are most common in kid spaces
